An exhibition by the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein in cooperation with the Museum im Bellpark Kriens.

"Lost in America" is a group exhibition that uses works of US American art from 1937 to the present day to sharpen the view of current political conditions in the USA. The focus is on reflecting on US history and examining those influences and developments that have shaped American identity through its specific national and political economy - especially the institution of slavery and its tragic legacy in terms of culture and everyday life. The examination of racism and its embeddedness in a neoliberal agenda that significantly influences social discourses as well as political decisions is one of the essential themes of the exhibition. "Lost in America" deals with the ideological formation of relations of production, of urban planning, architecture and design, as well as the institutionalisation of discriminatory dispositives that takes place through them.
