Firmware updates LUMIX S series.

The latest firmware update for the LUMIX S series brings exciting features. The new firmware version 2.1/LUMIX S1 supports RAW video output via HDMI with Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR. This allows a 16:9 signal to be recorded in 5.9K in 12-bit at 29.97p, 25p and 23.98p.

In APS-C, there are options for 4K in 17:9 at 59.94p/50p/29.97p/25p/23.98p as well as anamorphic APS-C in 3.5K at 50p/29.97p/25p/23.98p in 4:3 at 12 bits each.

The Lumix S5 has also received the same function with firmware version 2.3: It can now also output Blackmagic RAW via HDMI and then record according to the specifications already given for the S1. However, there is a difference: the Lumix S1 needs the software key upgrade "DMW-SFU2" for the update to work.

New functions and options are available with the upgrade software key DMW-SFU2. Users who already own DMW-SFU2 do not need to purchase an additional DMW-SFU2. It is not necessary to upgrade the camera with DMW-SFU2 if you have previously upgraded with DMW-SFU2.
