The coronavirus pandemic poses a great many social and economic challenges and has created a new and difficult situation for the cultural landscape. Festivals and institutions of photography, art and culture around the world have been closed until further notice. Here at PHOTO IS:RAEL, we are continuing to work as an independent social and cultural organization and as a wide-ranging and high-quality platform for discourse and expression through the language of photography.

In a meeting with the PHOTO IS:RAEL team, we will discuss the importance of the photographic medium during these times as a tool of connecting people, telling a story and sounding an alternative, diverse voice. We will also discuss the importance of international cultural events, and the special edition of the International Photography Festival which will take place at the end of this year. 
The event will include a guest lecture by the fascinating photographer Elinor Carucci .
