Between 1996 and 2022, the former ‘vfg Young Talent Award (NWFP)’ honoured ten outstanding talents in the field of photography each year. Following the merger of the vfg with the SBF and the uspp to form SIYU professionelle fotografie schweiz, the time has come in 2025 to relaunch the prize again as the SIYU AWARD. An independent association was founded to organise it. This is supported financially and logistically by the SIYU and individual sections - thus underlining SIYU's claim to sustainably promote young photographers in Switzerland and help young talents gain visibility. 

Timeline for the SIYU AWARD 2025
The submission period runs from February to the end of April. A professional jury of three recognised professionals, independent of SIYU, will select the ten best works from all submissions and award the additional SIYU AWARD, a prize worth CHF 3000. 
All ten works will be presented to the interested public as part of an exhibition (October to November 2025) and other events and, if possible, documented in a publication. Parallel guided tours, workshops and events are desirable to facilitate networking, dialogue with other photographers and artists and engagement with the general public.
