Photography is in a constant state of flux, which requires continuous education for the photographer. The SIYU sections offer all members exclusive participation in SIYU events and further education, be it software training, technical workshops, legal lectures or positioning workshops.

photo basel is the first and only photo art fair in Switzerland and is dedicated exclusively to art photography.
The fair brings together galleries from all over the world in a unique, authentic setting and sees itself as an integrative and hybrid platform that connects all players in the art world (online and IRL). As a fair, photo basel wants to actively contribute to this dialogue and make art photography even more accessible. To achieve this, photo basel has put together a diverse supporting programme in this year's edition alongside 39 international galleries. Since 2016, photo basel has been located in the direct vicinity of the Art Basel exhibition grounds, settled in the beautiful premises of the Volkshaus Basel. The Volkshaus Basel is a building renovated by the renowned Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, which houses various cultural highlights such as a bar, restaurant, beer garden and hotel. The Volkshaus is located at Rebgasse 12, just 700 metres from the Art Basel exhibition grounds. For its eighth edition, photo basel welcomes 39 galleries from 11 countries. More than 400 photographic positions (works of art) by over 165 artists will be shown.
