At the extraordinary general assembly of the vfg, a new board was elected. The step became necessary due to the closed resignation of the previous board.
The new board, for which Ferit Kuyas (vfg and vfg NWFP), Manuel Lopez (vfg and vfg pool) and Susanne Garcia Martinez (vfg young talent award) were unanimously elected, will lead the association on an interim basis at least until the regular general assembly around April/May 2021 (date not yet set).
At the EGA, which was held virtually because of Corona, a positive mood was noticeable. Even critical votes remained constructive in principle, which we consider a great sign of confidence in the vfg. This will make it easier for the new board to tackle the coming tasks of the association and to continue with the existing ones.
First and foremost, the merger of the vfg with the SBF, Swiss Professional Photographers and Film Creators and the USPP, Union Suisse des Photographes Professionnels is pending.
In addition, the 25th edition of the vfg Young Talent Award is already in warm-up mode. The call for entries is already in the pipeline, and a big celebration of photography is also planned for the 25th anniversary. The programme has not yet been finalised, but the date has, for the agenda: 25 hours of photography, on Saturday, 25 September 2021.
The new board is looking forward to the upcoming tasks in the association and, last but not least, to hopefully "normal" exhibitions and events with lots of good photography again soon, and will of course keep you informed about its activities.
