SIYU Section Basel Northwestern Switzerland

photo Basel is the only photographic art fair in Switzerland. It is dedicated exclusively to art photography. For the first time, four of the 41 galleries exhibited works exclusively by African artists. With spotlight Africa, photo Basel is committed to raising the profile of contemporary African photography. The Doyle Wham Gallery, run by two young gallery owners from London, is a prime example of this. They guided the Basel photographers through their exhibition. For example, the works of Angèle Etoundi Essama from Cameroon show the complex cultural identities of modern African women.
