Tim Rod – «Fragments of Memory»
The SIYU AWARD recommends the exhibition ‘Fragments of Memory’ by Tim Rod, currently a guest at Volume in Bern with Galerie Reflektor. Tim made it to the final of the 25th vfg Young Talent Award (from 2025: SIYU AWARD) 2021 with two works, namely ‘à démain Inshallah’ and ‘Don't forget the Knifish’. The former even won 1st prize. In his work, the Swiss photo artist, who was born in 1992 and lives in Bern, explores the themes of his own and ‘foreign’ identity, exile, homeland, homelessness and memory, or searching in general. Noemi Solmavico describes the work ‘Fragments of Memory’, which will be exhibited between 11 and 24 January, as follows: ‘(...) Tim's photographs are poetic offerings, playgrounds for our minds. They are invitations to drill holes with our eyes, invitations to roll the moons with our imagination.(...)’ You have to see it with your own eyes!
