Artificial intelligence (AI) in photography

16.04.2024

AI and creativity - Conference of the Swiss Coalition for Cultural Diversity. Since the launch of ChatGPT by OpenAI in autumn 2022, the topic of "artificial intelligence", or AI for short, has been present in all media.

Even if interest in the topic has waned in the media, it is clear that AI will have an impact on almost all areas of life. There are many discussions about what AI can really do, what fears there are about future developments and what effects we can expect, particularly in culture. A categorisation and clarification is therefore necessary.

Particular attention should be paid to the effects of AI on the diversity of artistic and cultural forms of expression. For this reason, the Swiss Coalition for Cultural Diversity,Suisseculture and the Federal Film Commission have decided to organise a conference on this topic. The aim is to provide guidance and draw up concrete political demands for the handling and regulation of AI. The conference is supported by SSA, SIG, SUISA and Suissimage.
