SIYU Basel - Northwestern Switzerland

Last week, on 10 April 2024, 17 photographers, including former vfg members, met for a special guided tour of the extensive Jeff Wall (1946*) solo exhibition at the Beyeler Museum in Riehen. This is his first exhibition in Switzerland for two decades and was organised in collaboration with the artist himself.

The lively guided tour through the eleven exhibition rooms and the 55 works was well worthwhile; the curator effortlessly told story after story in front of each of the large-format pictures, but also revealed some detailed knowledge about the staging of the respective theme.
 
There is no need to write anything about the founder of "staged photography" at this point. Just this: Go there, it's worth it - the museum's location, architecture and park are also spectacular. The exhibition runs until 21 April 2024.
